Below, you will find a trove of information that will help you gain an understanding of what to expect when you join The Vault! Please read and understand the guide. Most of the questions you might have should be answered below.

WELCOME TO THE VAULT

The Vault is a ‘Post Apocalyptic’ themed server based off a variety of games and movies such as the Fallout series and Mad Max. The massive wasteland world lets the players thrive from the depths of abandoned mines to the heights of crumbling skyscrapers. Players can either choose to play alone or team up to make the ultimate band of bandits. Since the server is massively combat based, stepping out of the vault could lead to your painful fate. Face the threats of nature from dying of dehydration to being eaten alive by packs of mutant wolves.

HOW TO JOIN

To join The Vault, click on multiplayer when Minecraft starts up.

When the server list loads, select "Add Server"

Enter whatever you'd like for the name, and enter play.TheVaultMC.net as the IP. Change "Server Resourcepacks" to "Enabled"

Select add server in the bottom left and select join server

Voila! You're inside the server! Enjoy your stay!

LIST OF COMMANDS

  • /spawn - Teleports you to spawn
    • Price: $3
  • /warp - Opens the warps menu
    • Price per warp: $5
  • /help - Opens the help menu
  • /party - Opens the party menu
  • /vote - Opens a list of voting sites
    • Rewards: x1 Infused Emerald & $10
  • /blood - Toggles blood particles

GETTING STARTED

Starter kit information

The Vault features a massive 5000 by 5000 block map with over 13 cities to loot and explore. Upon entering The Vault, you'll be welcomed with a small starter kit filled with some goodies to help get you started. The kit comes with x1 guide and x1 rule book, as well as a communication device, a wooden bat, x6 canned beans, and a tier 1 med kit. Please read the guide & rule book carefully!

Goldshire Square

To your left (back-ish) you'll find Goldshire Square. Goldshire Square holds all of your Wasteland needs! You can sell your junk, craft weapons & armors, buy guns, and much more, here!

Weapon Crate & News Panel

If you go forward instead of left, you're met with a weapon crate & a brief news panel. You can get keys from voting & purchasing them from the key vender in The Vault.

Goldshire Bank & Fishing hole

To your right, you find the Goldshire Bank where you can store items you find in The Wastelands. Survivor has access to more bank slots. The bank also has the other crates that you can obtain.

On the left is the survivor fishing hole where you can use a fishing net to catch sardines, and combine them to make cans of sardines.

Vault Leadership & Survivor Perks

To your right, there is the list of Vault Leadership. Vault Leadership keeps the server running in perfect condition. (Staff Team) Apply at http://www.thevaultmc.net/apply

The Traveling Merchant & Souldbound Station

The traveling merchant is an NPC that you can purchase new and unique items from. Every week, his items changes so come back weekly!

The Insurance station is a place where you can apply the "Insured" enchant to an item for x5 Infused Emeralds & $100. When you die, any items with the insure enchant will not be dropped. But only once, once you die, all items with the enchant will lose the enchant and if you want to keep the item again, you'll have to re-enchant.
WARNING: Insuring money will make it un-usable! So don't try it!

THE WASTELANDS

Welcome to The Wastelands. The Wastelands is a brutal, unforgiving place. Full of bandits, and mutations, and other people just trying to survive. Upon exiting The Vault, you're greeted with The Vault safe place. PVP and PVE is off in here.
The Wastelands has 13 cities with 5 different factions all fightng to be the top of the food chain.

Cities/Mobs

There are 5 levels (And bosses). Level 1 cities have level 1 mobs and are for newbies and are fairly easy. Level 5 cities are very hard and are for advanced players. Bosses are extremely difficult and are meant to be taken down with groups of players. All mobs drop $, higher levels = more money. There's also a chance to drop weapons, armor, & unique items.

Mob Factions

Factions

There are 5 tiers of factions that dominate The Wastelands. Each faction is stronger then the one before.

Mob Aggressions

Specific mobs can be friendly, neutral unless provoked, or aggressive.
Green: Friendly, will not attack at all.
Yellow: Will only attack if attacked first.
Red: As soon as they spot you, will attack you.

Wildlife

The first and easiest faction is the wildlife. They're animals roaming around.

Civilians

Civilians are humans that have banded together and are trying to survive.

Bandits

Bandits are ruthless killers that have been united under one flag and plan to rule the apocalypse ridden world.

Valgar

Valgars are slime creatures that have been created from toxic sludge.
Tier 4

Mutations

Mutations are extremely aggressive and powerful monsters that were created from the radiation from the nuclear fallout.
Tier 5

Bosses

Bosses are absolute beasts and are extremely powerful with a lot of health. They reward good amounts of money and items, however are extremely hard to take down. Each faction has one boss.

Infused Emeralds

What are Infused Emeralds

Infused Emeralds are the more advanced currency which can be used for purchasing crates, and can be obtained from voting and daily rewards.

What are they used for?

Infused Emeralds are mainly used for purchasing keys. However they can be used for soulbinding items, enchanting armor, and much more.

How are they obtained?

The easiest way to obtain Infused Emeralds is by voting. To vote, use /vote and click the vote links. Some other ways include killing bosses, trading other players, opening crates, donating, and doing quests.

LOOT

Loot Chests

Loot chests are chests that are scattered around the map. Upon opening, they give you a little bit of loot. Please note that Loot Chests CAN have nothing in them. Once you loot a chest, it refills every 5 minutes, these chests are personal, as in you and a friend can loot them at the same time and get different items.

Mobs

Killing mobs is a fast way of obtaining loot. All mobs drop $1-5 and bosses drop $25-100. Mobs also have a chance to drop items.

RARITIES

There are hundreds of items to obtain in server. Every single one having a rarity. Rarities determine how useful or efficient an item is.

Tier 1

Tier 1 is the lowest tier and is either of bad quality, or a junk item. Items are signified with a "Junk Item". Weapons & Armors are signified with the names being green.

Tier 2

Tier 2 is the 2nd lowest tier and is slightly better then Tier 1. Items are signified with an "Uncommon Item" tag. Weapons & Armors are signified with the names being blue.

Tier 3

Tier 3 is the middle tier and is slightly better then Tier 2. Items are signified with a "Rare Item" tag. Weapons & Armors are signified with the names being yellow.

Tier 4 is the best tier and is slightly better then Tier 3. Items are signified with a "Legendary Item" tag. Weapons & Armors are signified with the names being red.

BASIC NEEDS

Your hunger and thirst can kill you just as easily as a bandit with a gun. They are necessities that can be satisified with specific items. When either of these are low, you will begin to lose health and eventually, die.

Hunger

Your hunger determines how strong or how weak you are and how accurate your weapon is. Any form of food found or purchased can satisfy this.

Thirst

Thirst is self explanatory. Drinking water bottles, or jumping in forms of water will quench your thirst.

BASIC ITEMS

This is a small list of the basic items and what they do that can be found around The Vault & The Wastelands.

Bottle & Water Bottles

Water Bottles can be drank to refill thirst. Purchased at the Refreshments Vendor in Goldshire Square. Bottles can be filled by right clicking water sources or traded for water bottles in the refreshments vendor.

Med packs

Med packs are items, that when used, will give you regeneration. They work based on the Tier system. Higher tiers give you higher tier of regeneration. (I, II, III, IV) etc. Can be found in loot chests, or purchased via James' Medical Outpost in Goldshire Square.

Syringes

Syringes work the same as Med Packs, however they are cheaper & found more often, as well as give you regeneration for lesser time. Can be found in loot chests, or purchased via James' Medical Outpost in Goldshire Square.
